Bmw Repair in San Jose, CA

BMW maintenance and repair with dealer-level diagnostic equipment and OEM-quality parts, and a written estimate before any work.

Why a BMW specialist matters

A BMW is built for the driver, and it carries a lot of engineering to get there: tightly packaged engines, many control modules talking to each other, and a service system that tracks what the car needs. That is why the right equipment and the right parts matter. BMW is the B in LTBM. Our certified technicians use dealer-level diagnostic equipment to read BMW-specific fault codes, and we use OEM-quality parts and maker-approved fluids.

Common BMW service needs

These are general patterns, and your owner's manual and service display are the final word for your car.

  • Condition Based Service. Most modern BMWs track oil, brakes, brake fluid and other items and show what is due on the dash. We read those reports and handle the items that are due.
  • Oil. BMW engines call for oil that carries BMW's Longlife approval for that engine. We match the approval, not just the viscosity.
  • Oil leaks. Gaskets harden with heat and age. Leaks from the valve cover and oil filter housing gaskets are common on older BMW engines and are worth fixing before oil reaches belts or hot exhaust parts.
  • Cooling system. The water pump, thermostat, expansion tank and hoses wear with age and miles, and an overheating BMW engine is an expensive one.
  • Brakes. BMWs use pad wear sensors that put a message on the dash when the pads get thin. The sensors are usually replaced along with the pads.
  • Battery and electrical. On many BMW models, a new battery has to be registered to the car so the charging system treats it correctly.

Factory maintenance that protects your warranty

In general, US federal law lets you have scheduled maintenance done at an independent shop without voiding your factory warranty, as long as the work follows the maker's schedule and specifications and you keep the records. This is general information, not legal advice; your warranty booklet has the details for your car. Warranty-safe factory maintenance is what we do: maker-spec parts and fluids, the maker's schedule, and records you can keep.

What to expect

Every job starts with a written estimate, and no work begins without your approval. If we find an oil leak or worn part beyond what you came in for, we show you and let you decide what to do and when.

Questions we hear every week.

My BMW says service is due. What does that mean?

Most modern BMWs use Condition Based Service, which tracks items like oil, brakes and brake fluid and shows which ones are due. We read the report and quote the items that need attention.

Why does my BMW need special oil?

BMW approves specific oils for each engine under its Longlife standard. The right approval protects the engine and keeps your maintenance to spec, so we match it, not just the viscosity.

Is it normal for an older BMW to leak oil?

Oil leaks from the valve cover and oil filter housing gaskets are common as BMW engines age. A small seep can turn into a bigger problem if oil reaches belts or hot exhaust parts, so we find the source and quote the repair.
