LTBM Limited Warranty: 12 Months, Unlimited Miles
Repairs at LTBM come with this written warranty on the parts we supply and on our labor. Here is what it covers and how to use it.
The short version
- 12 months, unlimited miles, on the parts we supply and install and on our labor.
- It starts the day we hand your car back after the repair.
- If something we fixed fails because of a defect in our parts or our work, we make it right with no charge for parts or labor.
- Call us first at (408) 298-7777, and bring the car to our shop so we can check it.
Who gives this warranty
LTBM Auto Service Center, 222 Keyes St, Unit 104, San Jose, CA 95112. Phone (408) 298-7777. California Bureau of Automotive Repair, Automotive Repair Dealer #311587.
Who it covers
This warranty is for the customer named on the repair invoice. It does not transfer to a later owner of the car.
What it covers
- Parts we supply and install, if a part fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship.
- Our labor on the repair.
- Work we arrange with another shop as part of your repair, the same as if we did it ourselves.
Your invoice lists the parts and labor this warranty covers.
How long it lasts
- 12 months, with no mileage limit.
- It starts the day we return your car to you after the repair, which is normally the date on your final invoice.
- Days your car is with us for a covered repair do not count toward the 12 months.
- If a covered repair does not fix the problem and you tell us within 60 days after we finish, your warranty stays in effect until the problem is fixed.
- A part we replace under this warranty is covered for the rest of the original 12 months, plus any extra time the law gives you.
What we will do
If a covered part or our work fails during the warranty, we choose whether to:
- repair it,
- replace the part, or
- refund what you paid for that part and the labor to install it.
There is no charge for parts or labor on a covered repair. We do covered repairs as soon as we reasonably can.
How to make a claim
- Call us at (408) 298-7777 as soon as you notice a problem, and before the 12 months end.
- Bring the car to our shop at 222 Keyes St, Unit 104, San Jose.
- Show your invoice, or give us its date or number so we can find it in our records.
- Let us inspect and test the car to find the cause.
If a warning light, leak or unusual noise appears, please stop driving as soon as it is safe and call us, so a small problem does not turn into a bigger one.
How we check the cause
We inspect the car to find out why it failed. If the cause is a defect in a part we supplied or in our work, we fix it under this warranty. If the cause is something this warranty does not cover, we show you what we found and explain why before we do any paid work. If you disagree, you keep every right the law gives you.
There is no charge to inspect a problem that turns out to be covered. If it is not covered, we charge for the inspection only if you approved that charge on a written estimate before we started.
If you are away from San Jose
Call us first. If you cannot reasonably bring the car to us, we may approve a repair at another licensed repair shop. We must approve it in writing before the work starts, and a text or email from us counts. We then pay the reasonable cost of the covered repair, up to what we would have charged for the same work, once we receive the other shop's itemized invoice and the failed part. We do not pay for work done elsewhere without our written approval.
Parts we replace
If you would like the old part back, ask when you bring the car in. We give it back to you unless we must send it to our parts supplier for its warranty; then we show it to you instead.
What this warranty does not cover
We do not cover a failure, or damage, caused by:
- an accident, collision, fire, flood or other outside damage, including road hazards such as potholes and debris;
- misuse, abuse or neglect, including racing, off-road driving, overloading, or towing more than the car is rated for;
- changes or modifications to the car or the repaired system that we did not make;
- repairs, adjustments or tampering by anyone other than LTBM after our repair, unless we approved them in writing;
- skipping the maker's maintenance schedule, or continuing to drive after a warning light, leak or unusual noise appears;
- a problem we recommended fixing that you chose not to fix (we note declined repairs on your estimate or invoice);
- a condition that was there before our repair and was not part of the work we did, including a related part we did not replace.
This warranty also does not cover:
- parts you supply, or our labor to install them;
- normal wear of parts that wear out with use, such as brake pads, wiper blades, filters, fluids and bulbs;
- the tire itself, which the tire maker's warranty covers (we help you make that claim, and our mounting and balancing labor is covered here);
- a claim based on false or misleading information, such as a hidden accident or work by another shop that was not disclosed.
Limits on what we pay
Your remedy under this warranty is the repair, replacement or refund described above.
To the extent the law allows, we do not pay incidental or consequential costs, such as towing, a rental car, lodging, meals, lost time or lost pay. Some States do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.
Any implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, last only as long as this warranty (12 months). Some States do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
These limits do not apply to personal injury. Nothing in this warranty limits our responsibility for our own fraud, willful misconduct or violation of law, or any right the law gives you that cannot be waived.
The whole warranty
This page is LTBM's complete written warranty, and LTBM makes no other express warranty about the repair. No one can change it by phone or in person; any change must be in writing from LTBM.
